New Delhi, November 30: Chinese handset manufacturer Xiaomi announced that its “Desh ka Smartphone”- the Redmi 5A at an event on Wednesday. Redmi 5A goes through the same reliability test as the other flagship Mi phone to ensure its durability and reliability. Giving a major push to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make in India initiative, every Redmi 5A will be made in Sri city, Andhra Pradesh, India. “#Redmi5A is being Made in India. 100% if units that we will sell in India, will be made locally in the country”, Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India Managing Director tweeted.
The Desh ka Naya smartphone comes in two variants. The Redmi 5A 2GB+16GB is priced at Rs 4,999 for the first 5 million units post which it will be available for Rs 5,999 and Redmi 5A 3GB+32GB is priced at Rs 6,999. Xiaomi on Tuesday announced that its “Desh ka Smartphone” will be made available on Flipkart, mi.com and Mi Home stores on the 7th December and also with our offline partners soon.
Redmi 5A has a 5-inch fully-laminated HD display and comes with a metallic matte finish, and will be available in three colours- Dark grey, Gold and Rose gold. Like most of Xiaomi phones, Redmi5A also comes with an IR blaster. You can use this to operate your AC, TV, Set-top box and many more devices. It runs on a Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor to ensure that you can run multiple apps and games seamlessly. It can last up to 8 days on standby and it performs well in every category including music and video playback.
Battery:
Redmi 5A boasts a 3000mAh long-lasting battery which will easily last for more than 1 day under regular usage conditions. “Redmi 4A had hybrid 3 choose 2 sim slot. Our fans asked us to make it 2+1 and so Redmi 5A has a dedicated microSD slot along with 2 SIM slots, expandable up to 128 GB, so you can store all your favourite movies and music”, Xiaomi India said.
Camera:
Redmi 5A’s 13MP camera comes with 5-element lens, a f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. It also has a 5MP front selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and smart & pro beautify mode! It also comes with several built-in features like HDR powered by our awesome algorithms, panorama, real-time filters. Most importantly, now it also has phase detection autofocus (PDAF).
